One of the finest pianists of our time, Stephen Hough presents an exclusive Melbourne recital at the Robert Blackwood Hall on Tuesday September 23. Stephen is established on the international stage not only as an exceptional performer, but also as a writer and composer. His performance of Chopin’s Ballade No.1, is seen in the documentary Chopin Changed My Life.

He shares with us here a recital program of real magic and beauty. A selection of miniature works by the impressionist composer Debussy, including the famous Children’s Corner, frame the four ballades of Chopin. Hauntingly powerful, Chopin’s music goes straight to the heart of the listener, filled with tumultuous emotion. It is impossible not to be moved by this music.

The most perfect piano playing conceivable - The Guardian.
