Christchurch act and recent Flying Nun signee T54 are headed west in March for their first ever series of concerts outside their native New Zealand. T54 will be playing 3 times in the city of Melbourne between March 19th and 23rd, parading their wonderful blend of dream trash, acid guitar drones and spluttering fuzz pop with a selection of Melbourne's finest musical gems.

T54 have been up and down their home country since 2009 (including 2011's Big Day Out and 2012's Camp A Low Hum) earning prestige for loud and intense live shows loaded with charging distortion, insane feedback, robotic rhythms and wonderfully crafted pop songs. The group have thus far put out a prolific four EPs and last year's full length "In Brush Park" (via legendary label Flying Nun Records and Australia's Remote Control), all of which have received cheerfully positive reviews and sympathetic mentions from the likes of Melbourne's The Beat, Off The Tracks, UTR and Rip It Up. We recommend you sample the delights of T54's sound at t54t54.bandcamp.com and get along to one of the following shows:

Fri March 14 - Tommy Chang's - Lyttelton, NZ w/ The Hex Waves
Thur March 20 - The Old Bar - Melbourne, Aus w/ Claws and Organs, Glaciers and Popolice
Fri March 21 - Yah Yah's - Melbourne, Aus w/ The New Pollution and The Sunday Reeds
Sat March 22 - Grace Darling - Melbourne, Aus w/ Contrast and Miniatures

Some further thoughts on the T54 tingle:

"T54 hail from Christchurch, yet in the band’s music you can hear the art-punk rock of the lofts of 80s and 90s New York... This is some very good shit." - The Beat, Australia.

"...enormously impressive, one of the most promising Flying Nun - in fact, New Zealand - bands heard at Elsewhere in a while, check this one out!" - elsewhere.co.nz.

"T54 clearly like their drones, and they love their well-aimed laser-beaming feedback clusters, but buried in the detritus there are good songs peeping out as well, it doesn’t brag, it just does the business." - Rip It Up.

"On repeat listens, there seems to be only one thing wrong In Brush Park - it's too short." - theaudience.co.nz.

"In Brush Park is a blast – a blast of good tunes. From a good band. Give it a hoon. It’s well worth it." - Simon Sweetman/Off The Tracks.
