No one is made ‘closer’ by the truth.

Patrick Marber’s Tony Award Nominated script presents a powerful quartet of modern characters who find themselves caught between love, desire and betrayal.

When globetrotting ‘Alice’ finds herself laying in the arms of aspiring writer ‘Dan’, a powerful series of events begin to unfold. A year after falling for one another, the young couple’s illusions of love and romance are torn apart when photographer ‘Anna’, and through a curious coincidence, dermatologist ‘Larry’ come into their lives.

In Fresh Bred Productions’ new staging of ‘Closer’, Jack McKenzie makes his directorial debut, bringing an exciting, energetic and youthful point-of-view to this popular piece of theatre. Jack McKenzie’s unique and potent interpretation of these characters and their stories are partnered with a sleek and surprising production design by Craig Griffen who also serves as producer. The production is presented with an enchanting live original score, composed and conducted by Kohan Van Sambeek.

Starring Natasha Stiven, Brodie Masini, Diana Oliver and Jason Dohle, this exciting community theatre production is sure to delight, intrigue and inspire endless conversations about our own understandings of love, romance and desire in this modern world.
