What do you get when you cross Australia’s biggest bloke, an ex brickie and an intelligent professional modern thinking lady? November’s Comedy@ThePlayHouse!

Get your Christmas Party organised and come see on Saturday 22 November at 7:30pm.

In the last show for the year, come out and see Chris Franklin, writer of the No.1 hit single ‘Bloke,’ drop some comedy knowledge at the Civic Playhouse. Ever since his break out in 2000, Franklin has been charming audiences around the world with his laid back Aussie attitude. Franklin has appeared on all the major networks including The Footy Show – League (Nine Network), The Footy Show – AFL (Nine Network), Headliners (Foxtel), Mars & Venus (WM Foxtel), A Current Affair (Nine Network), Good News Week (ABC TV) and Recovery (ABC TV).

Franklin is an absolute legend of the Australian Comedy scene and rose to fame with his multi-platinum and ARIA nominated single “Bloke.” Chris Franklin is not shy when touching on the issues of every Australian bloke such as beer, women, sport, beer and sport while also being credited with bringing the ‘Flanno’ back into fashion! Who better than to end Ruffhouse Comedy’s first Comedy@ThePlayhouse season than Chris Franklin, live in Newy!

Supporting Chris Franklin on the night is a stellar lineup of comics. Luke Heggie, a former national Raw winner, and regular at the Melbourne and Sydney Comedy Festivals is bringing his sharp one liners to the night. “Deadpan genius... one of the funniest stand ups around” is how the Sydney Morning Herald described Heggie after his solo show for the Sydney Comedy Festival. You should of seen what the Age said after Melbourne!

Capping this brilliant night off is the utterly brilliant mind of Alice Fraser. Put simply, Fraser is an eloquent, elegant and consummate performer who’s artful exuberance and presence will be a delight to grace the Playhouse stage. Her podcast “Tea with Alice” is also amazing!

Hosting the last show is our resident MC Gareth Wasik, comedian, commentator, producer and Newcastle local, who has held the no.1 comedy Album spot for 4 consecutive weeks in 2013 and achieved sales on his critically acclaimed album “Jesus Can’t Play Rugby” world wide – this night is one that you better not miss – even if the train line to Civic has been dug up!

Join us one last time for 2014 at Newcastle's finest Comedy event – Comedy@ThePlayhouse!
