Australia has one of the fastest growing ageing populations in the world, with a large proportion wanting to remain and be cared for in their own homes. The Consumer Directed Aged Care packages are, therefore, intended to make Home Care more accessible for senior citizens. As a result, community and home care providers face a degree of uncertainty as clients now play a much larger part in deciding where and how their own personal funding is allocated. The event will address the ongoing organisational changes and reviews that care providers need to undertake now in order to meet the changes by the 2015 deadline. As all organisations will be required to offer Consumer Directed Packages by July 2015, care providers are determined to maintain their operational effectiveness during this transition. With a need to not only maintain a high quality of care, organisations want to improve their marketability, financial management, workforce development and strengthen other core operations.
The Consumer Directed Aged Care Summit 2014 will bring together industry leaders from private and non-government care institutions to share implementation experiences and best practice whilst equipping their organisations to meet the national 2015 CDC target.
