When Aphrodite, Goddess of Love, Sex and Creativity, returns to Earth to find the reincarnation of her true love, Adonis, she finds humanity in a sorry state.

So she decides to leave behind some goddess wisdom before she returns to the heavens by enlisting the help of four other powerful goddesses – long banished from Earth but still lurking in our collective unconscious:

• Morrigan, the cursing Goddess of Vengeance
• Persephone, compliant daughter and Goddess of the Underworld
• Diana, party animal and Goddess of the Moon
• Quan Yin, who has become the Goddess of compassion through embracing her own brokenness

The goddesses will be supported by the angelic accompaniment of Arpeggio, God of Music.

With their help, Aphrodite hopes to restore the balance between the sacred masculine and feminine, heal our psychological wounds and pick up a hot young spunk on the way.

Louise McCabe plays all five goddesses. Described as “a drag queen trapped in a woman’s body”, Louise has wowed audiences from high-flyers in the corporate sector to the paralytic in a seedy Kings Cross bar.

Louise trained Theatre Nepean in New South Wales and has performed in theatre companies in Adelaide, Sydney, Canberra and Townsville.

She met her true love, cabaret, when touring with irreverent corporate cabaret company Absolutely Not! through Sydney, Hobart and Townsville.

Louise and Sydney actress Helen O’Connor devised the three-hour cabaret funny girls, performing to sold-out houses in Paddington RSL and Slide bar, Darlinghurst.

In 2012, Louise wrote, produced and performed Conversations with Goddesses, a one-woman cabaret that incorporates mythology and old school cabaret with a stunning audio-visual display.

In 2014, Louise performed the show in the Adelaide Fringe to very appreciative audiences.

Louise is now thrilled to be bringing Goddesses to Sydney, all the way from the cosmic Northern Rivers where she now lives.

“Louise plays the audience like a cabaret veteran… her energy and commitment are a solid tribute to the feminine spirit.” – Ewart Shaw, The Advertiser, Adelaide Fringe.
