The Craw Daddy RnB Club was a music venue in Richmond, Surrey, England. The Rolling Stones played their first gig ever at the Craw Daddy in Feb 1963 and started a residency in the club. The Beatles come to see the Stones play in April of ‘63. The club fast became an institution, with the likes of Led Zeppelin, Elton John and Rod Stewart all playing intimate gigs in the space. The Craw Daddy Club is one of the most important cultural icons in rock music and the myth of the club led to the creation of the first Rock n Roll Magazine Ever - ‘Crawdaddy!’

And so the Craw Daddy Club at the Bank was born. Kicking off on Friday 2nd May, Upstairs at the Bank will launch Craw Daddy Club, playing host to the best in local Sydney bands. Already a Newtown favourite, the Bank is establishing its place as a cultural beacon on the Sydney Live Music Scene.

Head down to Upstairs at the Bank, Newtown on Friday 2nd May for the first Craw Daddy Club featuring The Morrisons, Lucky Luke and his Shooting Stars, Frank Sultana and the Sinister Kids. Bands from 11pm and entry is free. Who knows, could the next Rolling Stones be playing this month?
