I, a Man made their return to the stage for the first time in 2014, when they recently launched the second single ‘In Time’ at an outdoor show at The Luscombe Street Community Gardens. The forthcoming debut LP Gravity Wins Again, is penned for release on April 11, via the bands own label We Swimmers. The new recordings see the band further expand on their signature hypnotic and expansive indie rock with a sound that must be heard in its purest form; on vinyl. As a completely independent release the band have launched a crowd funding campaign with Pledge Music for their very first vinyl release, offering B-sides, one off t-shirt designs, an acoustic breakfast show performance and other limited opportunities with Pledging open until early April.

Eager to bring the album to life, the Melbourne four-piece has announced an autumn residency at the newly renovated Boney. Every Wednesday evening in March I, a Man will be joined by the likes of Lowlakes, Sleep Decade, Texture Like Sun, Sunbeam Sound Machine & Sean Pollard (Split Seconds) to perform new tracks from Gravity Wins Again for the first time.

Wednesday 5th March, electronic 5 piece Lowlakes, who spent the end of 2013 touring Europe with the likes of Chet Faker, Chelsea Wolfe and Canadian band Half Moon Run, will join I, a Man. With the release of their debut LP, Iceberg Nerves, set for 28th Feburary in both Australia & Europe, this will be the bands last show before they take off back to Europe for a follow up tour commencing 14th March taking them to Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, UK, Italy and France.

Wednesday 12th March, dreamy shoegazers Sleep Decade, blend dream pop and folk in delicately executed, deeply atmospheric songs. Made up of brothers Casey and Monty Hartnett, and close friend Thom Plant, the three-piece find a multitude of ways to make expansive, languid sounds fascinating. Warm vocals, looped guitar textures, simple bass motifs and loose, minimalist drumming emanate from the trio like billowing clouds.

Wednesday 19th March sees the return of Texture Like Sun to the live scene. The band features musicians from Gotye, Blue King Brown, and many more. The follow up to the their self-titled EP, was recorded across Darwin and at Melbourne's Bounce County Studios; produced by award winning Pip Norman (Countbounce - TZU, Sparkadia, Ash Grunwald) and mixed by Dan Rejmer - a man who counts Bjork, Foals and Paul Kelly among his working credits. While the six piece’s sound couldn't be further away from anything they’ve done before, their cohesive approach remains apparent; evident through the effortless guild that bridges each of the songs on the forthcoming release.

Wednesday 26th March will see the residency come to an end with two supports Sunbeam Sound Machine & Sean Pollard of Split Seconds playing a solo set.
Nick Sowersby aka Sunbeam Sound Machine will bring together his 5-piece outfit, expanding and improvising on the recorded versions of his double EP. One EP was written and recorded in his parents’ Seaford home, showcasing his raw-sounding, playful collection of songs. The other half more insular, dreamlike and cohesive, recorded at his homes in Fairfield and Collingwood.
With new music on the not too distant horizon Sean Pollard will also be joining the last week in solo mode. With their debut album You’ll Turn Into Me released in 2012, it won’t be very long before you hear the next instalment from Split Seconds.
