Absynthe French Restaurant and Bar is launching its inaugural River City Supper Club on Fridays.

The launch at 9pm on Friday 29th August will feature the talents of vocalist Sandra Beynon accompanied by Sean Mullen, who make up the Body and Soul Duo.

Restaurant owner and Michelin-hatted chef, Meyjitte Boughenout, wants his bar to become synonymous with sophisticated entertainment in supper club style.

“There is a dearth of establishments on the Gold Coast where patrons can attend and enjoy live music in a sophisticated atmosphere, be served by well-trained staff and dine on chef-prepared food. With free parking and free entry – I’m hoping this venture will be patronized by those on the Gold Coast who value hospitality and relaxed enjoyment on a Friday night without the teeny-bopper element, " said Boughenout.

Co-ordinated by Body and Soul Music, a Brisbane-based entertainment agency, the restaurant will transform into the River City Supper Club each Friday, and will feature cabaret-style musical presentations by musicians from the local area and Brisbane. The concept has been successful in venues in Brisbane and is always looking to branch out into other regions and cities.
