There are over thirty new citizens to be recognised at the Citizenship Ceremony at the Caboolture Historical Village on Sunday 17th August 2014, so the Village is celebrating with a Multicultural Day with some great activities for all.

The Village will open at 9.00am and all the action will be in Stanmore Hall where the Wamuran School Concert Band will play as the new citizens and dignitaries take their place in the Hall. There will be a Welcome to Country speech from Dr Eve Feisl from the Gubbi Gubbi people. The ceremony goes from 10am to 10.30am when the guests will enjoy a morning tea.

Outside in the Village there will be activities which include a Children’s Safety Concert on the veranda of the old Hotel, and soon after a range of activities in the stage area opposite near the chapel.

Activities include demonstrations by Percheron Horses, the Red Dragon Martial Arts Group, music from the Wamuran School Concert Band, the Moreton Celtic Fiddle Club, and the Jam Session will continue at the Hotel. There is a full program culminating in the Chinese Lion Dance by the Red Dragon Martial Arts Group at 2pm.

Visitors are welcome to bring their own lunch but the Red Hall Café will be serving Thai Food, there will be a sausage sizzle, or you might like to try the Damper. Why not wear your National Costume – prizes will be awarded for the best costumes. Come along and join the fun!
