This course is suitable for participants aged 18 and over and occurs weekly from October 15 through to November 11.

The classes explore techniques to develop the instrument of your voice. Discover ways to rectify impediments as well as the skills required to record voice overs for radio and TV. Participants are able to work on their repertoire of audition pieces or monologues or speeches they may wish to perform.

Classes include:

Lesson 1: Standing properly, breathing from the diaphragm and work through speeches.

Lesson 2: Opening the back of the throat while performing monologue, speech of scene.

Lesson 3: Resonance and projection.

Lesson 4: Jaw relaxation. Begin drilling vowels and consonants.

Lesson 5: Listen to examples of voice-overs. Learn skills required. Work on sample scripts.

Lesson 6: Final Class held in recording studio. Participants to create and keep CD of their recording.

About the lecturers: Annie Murtagh-Monks trained as an actor at NIDA and completed post grad study at RADA in London. After acting professionally for many years she became a casting director and has cast most screen dramas shot in WA since 1993 including "Ship to Shore";“Last Train to Freo”, "“The Circuit 1 & 2”, and "Drift" plus over 18 TV series. Annie has continued teaching acting and lecturing. She founded PAC Screen Workshops in 1992 and PAC Script Lab in 2004. Her many years experience as a Voice Over artist also provides her with first hand knowledge in this area.
