Olivers Army is the musical conjurings of Barossa Valley born singer songwriter Ryan Oliver. He started writing contemporary folk songs whilst traveling North America as a teenager and upon returning to his hometown of Adelaide, he formed a band with his twin brother in 2010.
Since then the band have gone from strength to strength, releasing a self titled EP in 2010 'Olivers Army EP' and their second, Alternative-Country influenced EP 'II' in 2012. Highlights included sold out release shows and supports for Big Scary, Deep Sea Arcade and Eagle and the Worm, amongst others.
In 2013 Ryan relocated to Melbourne and formed a band with former Adelaide musical comrades Tom Krieg and James Roberts (The Battery Kids) Gina Somfleth (Menagerie) and Sam Billinghurst Walsh (James McCann, Peter Ewing, Ruth Lindsey). See him play a rare solo set at The Drunken Poet.
