Please join us for the joyous celebration of Sri Krishna Janmastami, the birthday celebration of Bhagavan Sri Krishna, the speaker of the ancient yoga text the Bhagavad-Gita. There will be chanting, dancing, singing of beautiful songs, feasting and as well as a beautiful bathing ceremony. This is a very special celebration not to be missed.

On the night Krishna was born, all directions were peaceful. Auspicious stars shone in the sky and rivers flowed full of water, beautifully decorated with blooming lotus flowers. Birds in the forests sang and peacocks danced, the wind blew pleasantly and flowers rained from the sky. Angels and celestial beings rejoiced, offering prayers while dancing and singing. At the seashore there was the sound of mild waves and above the sea the clouds thundered pleasantly while the full moon rose in the sky.

Sri Krishna Janmastami is enthusiastically celebrated by millions of people around the world and we are very excited to be hosting this wonderful celebration at The Mantra Room.

The Mantra Room is the heart and soul of kirtan on the Gold Coast. Everyone is welcome to come sing and dance enthusiastically or simply rest your heart and mind in the transcendental sound of sacred mantras.

The Mantra Room offers a vibrant mix of music styles combined with sacred yoga chant in a relaxed, enchanting atmosphere.

Featured kirtan leaders include Radha Krishna das whose playful and heartfelt chanting will leave you feeling inspired with an enlivening, rocking kirtan and Madya Lila dasi whose enchanting melodies soothe the soul. A variety of talented guest artists also feature each week.

The experience of Kirtan is like no other; you’re not just listening to the music, the leader sings the mantra, everyone sings it back. It starts off slow and meditative and then the tempo gradually builds and builds, a single chant can go for 30 minutes or longer.

If you haven’t heard of Kirtan there is no better way to learn about it than to come along to The Mantra Room. Sing, dance, clap your hands and have a great time. Let the experience transport you to a world of inspiration, peace and joy, far beyond the stress and worries of life.
