Australian John Denver fans are in for a treat as a show dedicated to the life and times of the legendary singer is coming in July.

Bevan Gardiner honours the deceased singer songwriter's memory in this tribute show Take Me Home – The Music & Life of John Denver.

Australian audiences got a taste of Gardiner’s talent when he was the support act for American country singer Charley Pride. People rushed to buy his CD commenting how much he sounded like John Denver. Even Pride was impressed: “Bevan is amazing. He sounds just like John Denver,” the country singer said at the time.

The show has John Denver Management approval, and is authorised by Harold Thau, John Denver's long time personal manager and friend.

Reviewers also raved about Gardiner.
“Bevan Gardiner again gave another breathtaking performance. Can't wait for his tour next year.”
Others said “Gardiner’s voice stole the show” and “Gardiner casts his spell as Denver.”

The show features international musicians headed by acclaimed Canadian musical director David Walker. They will perform all the John Denver songs together with such accuracy and feeling that if you close your eyes you will be effortlessly transported back to the era of John Denver.

The show will tour Australia in July and August 2014.

What New Zealand Reviewers said:

“It would be a surprise if there were not more than a few moist eyes among audience members in the Regent Theatre on Saturday night as they listened to the evocative music of the late John Denver. What made the presentation so special for those in the nearly full theatre was the wonderful performance of Dunedin’s Bevan Gardiner as Denver.
The partially-sighted Gardiner cast his particular spell over the appreciative audience as they sat back and let the warmth of this young man’s voice wash over them.
What a triumph for Dunedin that six weeks of rehearsals by a talented cast of musicians and singers came to fruition in the first New Zealand performance of this marvellous show, which was enhanced by the footage of Denver and his family edited by TaylorMade Productions. The mainly older audience lapped it up.
Although most of the audience would have been aware of the Denver story, when it was put together in a two-hour show, it caused some sadness.
Denver rode the wave of success but was sidetracked from his music by his anti-war campaign and his passion to end child poverty and preserve his much-loved environment.
This show deserves much success. It is wonderful entertainment.”
