"The Two Character Play" by Tennessee Williams centres around two sibling actors, Felice and Clare, who are on tour with a play "in a state theatre of a state unknown". Abandoned by their fellow actors and crew, they decide to perform an spontaneous performance of "The Two Character Play" to the incoming audience. Felice is also a playwright, and author of "The Two Character Play" which is based, not so loosely, on the characters' childhoods.

"The Two Character Play" was described by Tennessee Williams as one of his most important life works, and he described it as "My most beautiful play since Streetcar". "The Two Character Play" recently enjoyed a successful season in New York, and Winterfall Theatre Company now presents The Australian Premiere season of the play. Winterfall Theatre Company is one of Melbourne's finest independent theatre companies, having received critical acclaim for its seasons of plays from the time of its inception in 2010. "The Two Character Play" is directed by Catherine Hill, with Dennis Coard and MIchele Williams.
