Universities play crucial, multi-faceted roles in their communities and surrounding regions. US education expert Dr Ira Harkavy will visit Bunbury to talk about how universities can solve some of the most pressing problems in their community.

Dr Harkavy is the Associate Vice-President and founding Director of the Barbara and Edward Netter Center for Community Partnerships at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr Harkavy received his BA, MA and PhD in History from the University of Pennsylvania, and is the recipient of the University’s Alumni Award of Merit and a Fulbright Senior Specialist Grant.
