Melita Rowston’s grandpa stole Ned Kelly’s bones! Well ... that's what Rowston family folklore claims.

Melita journeys to the heart of Kelly country to uncover the truth. Examining the skeletons in her own and many other families' closets, she meets a bunch of colourful characters who swear they're also connected to Ned Kelly - and will go to astonishing lengths to prove it!

Part TED talk, part comic monologue, Rowston explores a powerful national myth that continues to inspire many Australians to do really stupid things.

Australian tall-tale-telling at its finest.

Fresh from The Sydney Fringe where she was a SMH festival pick, Melita performed to rave reviews:

“Rowston is open, funny and genuine. She makes you want to have a Kelly connection too, so you can share the joy of the myth with her. Her show has bits that will fascinate you, bits that will make you laugh and bits that will leave you wanting to know more." - Australian Stage Online

"A wonderfully constructed exploration of two family myths presented with a lightness and humor and acknowledgment of the absurdity of the theories that are discovered along the way. An enjoyable night out where you may also learn something new about history or your own family past." - broadwayworld.com

"Part theatre, part TED talk, Rowston delivers a confident, intriguing show. She takes us on a very personal journey through Kelly country in search of the truth." - Theatre Now
