writingWA and Drakesbrook Fine Wines invite you to enjoy two of life's greatest pleasures - fine wine and great literature.

Join K.A. Bedford as he discusses his latest novel, Black Light, in conversation with fellow author Laurie Steed. The evening will commence with a complimentary glass of wine, courtesy of Drakesbrook Fine Wines.

K.A. Bedford is an original voice in Western Australia’s writing landscape with his quirky blend of fantasy and crime fiction. His latest novel, Black Light is populated with a cast of extraordinary characters including a grieving English widow and an aunt with psychic abilities, an inventor of time machines, a loyal butler and…elves. Flung together in the tiny community of Pelican River (a lovingly reimagined version of Mandurah) in the 1920s, they attempt to solve a life-threatening mystery.

K.A. Bedford is the author of Orbital Burn, Eclipse, Hydrogen Steel, Time Machines Repaired While-U-Wait and Paradox Resolution. He has twice won the Aurealis Award for Best Australian Science Fiction Novel, been shortlisted for the Philip K. Dick Award, and in 2013 his novel Paradox Resolution was joint winner of the Tin Duck Award for Best Western Australian Professional Long Written Work.

6.30pm for wine tasting, 7-8pm for author talk and book signings.
This is a free event but bookings are essential. RSVP: Phone 9550 3650 or email manlib@mandurah.wa.gov.au
