If you are an enthusiast of Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul (Uncle Boonmee, Syndromes and a Century), you know that he makes films like no one else in the world. A mysterious sleeping sickness, a young medium, a cryptic notebook, dream treatments using coloured lights and a mythic ancient site are the ingredients for this haunting new film.

Magic, healing, romance and dreams are the ingredients in what the filmmaker has described as an attempt to reclaim the old spirits he knew as a child.

Working at the intersection of cinema and gallery art, this is another clear, calm revelation, described by The Guardian as a unique imagist cine-poem: an essay in psychogeography and a meditation on death, the presence of the spirit world in nature and the unquiet ghosts of guilt and pain in the Thai nation.
