The Gippsland Vehicle Collection’s first display theme for 2015, Beaut Utes, will be launched at the Maffra Motor Museum on Sunday, 1 March.

The exhibit will feature a huge range of utes, from classic varieties to the more feral modern showpieces.

And vehicles of all kinds are welcome to come along and join the display in the grounds of the Gippsland Vehicle Collection for the launch, with prizes offered for best car and bike of the day and President’s pick.

So far, highlight displays will include a 1928 Chevrolet ute purchased new in Swan Hill by a fruit grower and still owned by the same family; an International ute purchased on the sly by a solicitor for a client because rationing regarding vehicles was still in force after World War 2; and a highly modified Mazda E2200 ute.

Food and drinks will be available, and display vehicles are welcome from 8am onwards.
So to indulge your love of Australia’s most iconic vehicle, the ute, get along to the Gippsland Vehicle Collection’s Beaut Utes display day and exhibit.

Display Day will be held Sunday, 1 March 2015 and the Beaut Utes exhibit will be at the Museum until July 2015.

Admission to the grounds on the display day is by gold coin donation, with an $8 entry fee to the Motor Museum, under 15s free.
