Bundy Flavours is a fresh new event in Queensland and 2015 marks its 3rd year. This weeklong festival staged from 5 – 13 September raises awareness of locally grown produce and product from the Bundaberg Region alongside a spring gardening celebration.

The festival includes a public picnic staged in one of Australia’s premier macadamia farms, culinary cooking classes and a food and gardening celebration in the heart of Bundaberg featuring regional producers, growers and creators, plus guest chefs Alastair McLeod, Matt Golinski, Shannon Kellam and gardening gurus.

With its iconic red soils and near perfect year-round climate, the Bundaberg region, just four hours north of Brisbane is one of Australia’s greatest food producers. One of the sweetest places on earth it’s home to the famous Bundaberg Rum, Bundaberg Sugar and Bundaberg Brewed Drinks.

Bundaberg is so sweet 75% of Australia’s sweet potatoes are grown here.

It produces more than 25% of Australia’s macadamias and is also known as Australia’s tomato capital. The region grows chillies, zucchini, squash, cucumber, capsicum, strawberries, snow peas and beans in abundance.

On the doorstep of the Southern Great Barrier Reef, fresh seafood is also a staple in the local diet.
