The iconic Chevron Renaissance is continuing its urban overhaul with a creative installation celebrating street art and featuring some of Australia’s most vibrant and popular artists.

In collaboration with design agency 40/40 Creative, Chevron; Illustrated makes up a series of supporting events for this year’s Surfers Paradise Festival, extending the celebration of the precinct beyond the foreshore.

Taking place from April 13-18, the free experiential art event gives visitors and locals alike a chance to watch artists live at work, transforming blank slates into vivid, contemporary artworks, while also listening to live music.

Fast becoming a frontier of art, food and culture, with its popular laneway and recent refurbishment, the iconic shopping centre will pack a punch with the live creation of colour and life, contributing not just to the festival program but to the permanent street art collection of the city.

Artists include John Kaye, Cherie 'Buttons' Lynch, Ciane Brewster and Steve 'Dusc' Nowland.
