This January, some of Queensland’s finest artists will converge on The Triffid for a very special night of music — Children of The Revolution: The History of The Protest Song.

The night will be held on January 17, just 2 days after what should have been the 86th birthday for inspirational civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. It will feature performances by Jackie Marshall, Luke Peacock (with full band), Sahara Beck, Kahl Wallis (The Medics), Cknu, Lucy Star (Satellite), and Celestino, with a host more artists and speakers to be announced soon.

Artists will re-visit and perform the songs of protest and passion that have inspired them—drawn from decades of powerful musical moments. If you are looking for night of agitation and inspiration, or just a good old-fashioned sing along, it’s going to be a show not to be missed.
