Join us on Sunday 8 November at 11am as we Dance for A Cure!

Hundreds of families from across Perth will come together in Forrest Place in the City of Perth to perform a choreographed dance to help raise awareness for the Children’s Leukaemia & Cancer Research Foundation (CLCRF).

This year’s event will be opened by the recently appointed CLCRF ambassador the Right Honourable Lord Mayor Lisa M. Scaffidi and will raise much needed funds for the CLCRF to continue their valued research into childhood cancer. People from all over Perth are strongly encouraged to register to be a part of this great event via the website:

Lauchlan Bain, an independent Perth choreographer, has taken on the challenge of choreographing the 2015 event, creating all of the dance moves for the general public. This year we are lucky enough to be dancing to Geronimo by Australian band, Sheppard, who are very supportive of this event and have licenced the song to CLCRF for this special occasion.

A filmed version of the choreography can be found on the Dance for a Cure website for the public to learn before the big day and there will also be two rehearsal days to be held on Sunday 18 October from 10am - 12pm and Sunday 25 October from 10am - 12pm. Those registered to dance must attend at least one of these rehearsal days to be eligible to dance on 8 November. Rehearsals will be at the Perth Football Club - Lathlain Park, which is on the corner of Goddard Street & Bishopsgate Street in Lathlain. It is also at these rehearsals that you will also be able to collect your brand new Dance for a Cure t-shirt ready for the big day. So get online, register and start learning your moves!

Keep the Flame Alive is the fundraising brand of CLCRF which was sparked by the 2012 Flame for Aline initiative that saw 700 people dancing in a flash mob in Forrest Place. Its primary focus is to raise awareness of the need for childhood cancer research. This amazing event not only supports future research into childhood cancer but encourages fitness, with all ages and experience levels getting outdoors and having fun, while being active - especially with the high energy routine of Geronimo.

This year, the Dance for a Cure event will be proudly supported by Channel 9 Perth. Chairman of the Children’s Leukaemia and Cancer Research Foundation, Geoff Cattach is excited about this.

“We’re really looking forward to this year’s Dance for A Cure and couldn’t be happier with Channel 9 Perth coming on board as a valued supporter. With their help we hope to see nearly 2000 kids, families and individuals coming together to fill Forrest Place on 8 November.”

Once again the Perth dance community has continued to provide massive support, and along with our wonderful team of volunteers and staff, this year’s Dance for a Cure stands to be the biggest and the best. This is an event not to miss and we hope to see you there. To register to dance head to: ''.
