Garden City Shopping Centre are excited to welcome disabled sport enthusiast, Richard Wassell who is publicly attempting to break three world records in-centre on the 5th and 6th of March, 2015.
Kicking off on Thursday March 5 at 10am in the Centre Court near Dome, Richard will attempt to row for over 26 hours straight to raise funds for Variety the Children’s Charity.

Paralysed down his right side after four major strokes at just 28 whilst serving on board an Australian submarine, Richard endured months of rehabilitation in a military intensive care ward to talk and walk again.

On top of raising funds for the much loved charity, Richard is also striving to increase awareness for disabled capabilities and challenge some of expectations of disability in the community.

In the lead up to the event, businesses will be able to register as sponsors to this charitable event. Business may purchase time on one of two additional rowing machines alongside Richard.

Businesses can choose to have inter-department challenges as a team building exercise or challenge their clients or competitors to take part and row against them over the allocated duration.
