“I’m trying to tackle the negative reputation that my generation has earned itself. We need to prove we’re not all apathetic, drug-munching, no-brainers. We do have something intelligent to offer and we’re not afraid of having political punch. It’s about time we believed in something.” - Ella Hickson

Want to see a theatrical game changer? Edgeware Forum presents the play Eight by Ella Hickson at this year’s Sydney Fringe.

A British state of the nation portrait of eight compelling Gen Y characters. London’s award winning playwright Ella Hickson wrote her first play ‘Eight’ to defend this age’s 20-somethings, and challenge Gen Y’s perceived ‘apathy.’ Join in a genuine inquiry into the zeitgeist of the named and shamed generation by hearing from their members on a personal level. Here’s the catch: the audience chooses which Gen Y character they want to hear from the night they attend the show. There’s eight all up, but you get to choose only five via a ballot system. This interactive ‘vote’ system will prove to be an exciting event for this year’s fringe, revealing “what happens to a generation living in a world where everything has become acceptable.”

Who will you choose?

Directed By Anna Houston
Cast Alastair James, Andre de Vanny, Bobbie Jean-Henning, Danielle Stamoulos, David Bruce, Jane Watt, Maryann Wright, Nicholas Starte
