Come along to a free film screening of the award winning documentary Between The Devil and The Deep Blue Sea looking at the circumstances and decisions that lead someone to become a boat person.

The screening with be hosted by the St George Amnesty International Group and will be followed by some special guest speakers.

Our first guest speaker will be Zaki, an asylum seeker from Afghanistan who has been living on a bridging visa in Australia for 2 years. Zaki has been involved in many community awareness programs such as the Refugee Camp in my Neighborhood, raising awareness about the struggles that refugees and asylum seekers face after becoming displaced from their home country.

Our second guest speaker will be a representative training officer from STARTTS. STARTTS - The NSW Service for the Treatment and Rehabilitation of Torture and Trauma Survivors – is a specialist, non-profit organisation that provides support to help people heal the scars of torture and refugee trauma and rebuild their lives in Australia.
