Robyn Collier is a contemporary realist painter and regarded as one of Australia’s foremost wilderness artists - preferring to paint the natural world and aspects of it. Although not formally trained she is an intuitive artist, having come from a creative family - her father being a very well known Sydney marine artist.

Robyn travels extensively throughout Australia, painting areas such as Kakadu, Tasmania, the Simpson Desert , the wild coast of W.A. and of course the World Heritage Blue Mountains where she lives. The trademark of all her paintings is the capturing of spectacular light that few artists seem able to achieve.

Robyn has always had to spent time in a place – to ‘feel’ the emotional and spiritual essence of the area, even though most of her works now are studio paintings. Time spent in the bush and walking is essential to refresh the soul and keep in touch with the qualities of nature she likes to create.

These days Robyn sells through her web-site, auction and select galleries throughout Australia. She has held over 30 exhibitions, has won multi awards and appeared on five television shows. She has published many articles on painting and appeared in print, calendars and cards.

Robyn’s philosophy is simple – “I want to show people the magic of the natural world through my work – to have them experience moments and places they may never be able to see for themselves.”

Expanding on her career as a professional visual artist, Robyn has, for the past six years been progressively taking on more tutoring positions in workshops both within Australia and in New Zealand.
