Reflecting our lush and wild environment, our artists have flourished in the Australian tropics, and boast a body of work which is beautiful, intriguing, whimsical and soulful. Sculpture, collage, oil on canvas, watercolour, multimedia, clay, found objects and bricolage unite in the biggest ever exhibition of LGBT artwork this side of the Tropic of Capricorn.

Gaze will see a bounty of regional artists bring their unique creations together for a three week show. Alongside the local talent, Cairns Tropical Mardi Gras are thrilled to announce that Gaze will feature the work of renowned LGBT rights activists and artists David McDiarmid and Deborah Kelly, showing in Cairns for the very first time. Gaze will be a landmark event in visual arts in Queensland.
