The Depot Theatre presents
Ghosts by Henrik Ibsen
An intense psychological drama and sharp social criticism.

Directed by Julie Baz
Featuring Brett Heath, Emily McGowan, Zac McKay, Lynn Roise and Steve Vincent

The story of Helen Alving, a widow haunted by the indiscretions of her deceased husband, Ghosts is a scathing indictment of society in which Ibsen refutes the notion that if one simply fulfills one's duty rather than following one's desires, then a good and noble life will be achieved. Best known for his masterworks, A Doll's House (1879) and Hedda Gabler (1890), Ibsen was notorious for questioning the accepted social practices of the times, surprising his audiences and stirring up debate. He gave theatrical art a new vitality which European theatre had lacked since the days of Shakespeare.
