The much-anticipated biennial Gold Coast Greek Festival is on again this year on Sunday 11th October at Evandale Parklands, Bundall, from 9.30am to 5.30pm.

Established as one of the Gold Coast’s largest community events, the Gold Coast Greek Festival will be officially opened by Gold Coast City Council Mayor Tom Tate and will showcase the vibrant Greek culture at its best, attracting thousands of food-lovers and festival goers.

Hosted by the Gold Coast Greek Community, this year will celebrate the 12th Gold Coast Greek Festival as patrons enjoy the delectable aromas and tastes of authentic Greek cooking coupled with non-stop entertainment and activities running all day.

Attracting a record crowd of about 12,000 people at the 2013 Greek Festival, the Gold Coast Greek Community will have extra volunteers on hand at this year’s event, as well as additional food stalls to cater for the anticipated increased number of festival goers.

There will be a vast array of traditional Greek cuisine including mouth-watering souvlaki, grilled octopus, loukoumi, baklava, and loukoumades (honey puffs) all served up with friendly Hellenic hospitality.

Entertainment will include Greek singers and dancers, cooking demonstrations, and competitions throughout the day.

Festival-goers can also do some shopping at the Imports and Merchandise Marketplace, walk through the cultural exhibitions and enjoy the amusements at the Children’s Fun Fair.

The Gold Coast Greek Festival will be on Sunday 11th October from 9.30am until 5.30pm and entry is just $7 for adults, aged pensioners and high school students $5, with entry free for children aged 13 years and under.

Evandale Parklands is located in front of the Gold Coast Council Chambers on Bundall Road, Bundall.
