The 1830s were a time of romanticism and of enlightenment. What happens when these run up against the harsh realities of colonialism? Danish botanist and visionary Wulff is sent to Africa to establish coffee plantations. He leaves the love of his life behind him in search of adventure, but he finds something very different.

Although the slave trade no longer exists at the Danish trading posts, the locals are quick to ravage the plantations he sows and Wulff starts to unravel a conspiracy that penetrates the very heart of colonial darkness.

The debut fiction feature from acclaimed documentarist Daniel Dencik, whose Expedition to the End of the World was one of the highlights of AFF2013. And note that the soundtrack is composed by Angelo (Twin Peaks) Badalamenti.
