"From one of Beethoven’s most sublime creations to Haydn’s incandescent wit, you’re in for a treat.

MCO’s Artistic Director William Hennessy’s stellar career has seen him perform as soloist in over 250 concerto performances around the world. In celebration of his 60th birthday, William performs as the soloist with MCO in Beethoven’s soaring, spiritual and spectacular Violin Concerto.

Get ready for the sheer delight of Il distratto (The Distracted One), the most eccentric of all Haydn’s symphonic creations. With violins stopping to ‘tune’ in the middle of the piece and a stream of musical jests, this is Haydn at his fast-paced, fiercely-imaginative best.

Praise for William Hennessy:
“…the music flashed like some finely cut jewel, dazzling in its brilliance…” Sydney Morning Herald
“…superbly accomplished…” The Australian
