World-class retail, dining and entertainment destination, Highpoint Shopping Centre, owned by The GPT Group and Highpoint Property Group, is creating its own version of the wildly popular lip sync battle to headline its second Electric Fields festival. The pretend-singing contest, made famous by performances from A-list stars Emma Stone, Will Ferrell and Tom Cruise on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, has attracted tens of millions of YouTube views and the phenomenon will take over Highpoint Level One for three days from Friday 11 – Sunday 13 September.

Headlining Highpoint’s lip sync battle are the stars of the brand new series of the adored Network Nine renovation hit, The Block: Blocktagon. The show’s latest design duos - Melbourne sweethearts Andrew and Whitney, single Gold Coast mums Suzi and Voni, Townsville larrikins Kingi and Caro, the go-getters from Newcastle Dean and Shay and the 2nd chance Western Australian siblings Luke and Ebony – will swap their hardhats for microphones and reveal their showmanship live in centre.

Hosted by fan favourite Keith the Foreman and TV presenter Lauren Phillips, the contestants will hit the stage at 12pm on Saturday 12 September, putting their tools down to strut their stuff for the ultimate glory of the lip sync title. The Blockheads will also hold a ‘Meet and Greet’ with fans at Highpoint Level One following their energetic performances, in what will be the first opportunity for the public to meet this year’s contestants, get their autographs and take a selfie.

The return of Electric Fields will celebrate the opening of Strike, which marks the next instalment of Highpoint’s new Level One casual dining and entertainment precinct, and will see Highpoint deliver the most comprehensive entertainment offering in Melbourne’s West. Bringing its unique brand of Escapism to a suburban location for the first time, Strike is more than just an average bowling alley, offering three exciting escapism rooms, ten pin bowling, laser tag and karaoke. With space for over 400 patrons, Strike at Highpoint Level One also features a cocktail bar and gourmet kitchen to keep guests refreshed and refuelled as they enjoy the ultimate collection of entertainment experiences.

To honour its new location, Strike has commissioned local artist, Sandra Eterovic, to design a mural that highlights the changing landscape of living in Melbourne’s West, featuring people from a diverse range of cultures and backgrounds. The mural reflects the community, culture and soul of Highpoint’s new Level One casual dining and urban entertainment precinct, anchoring its position as the premier entertainment destination in the West.

Electric Fields at Highpoint Level One will see customers leave it all on the stage as they battle it out to chart-topping hits, classic rock and retro favourites to win the lip sync crown. Great prizes are also up for grabs including gift vouchers and tickets from Highpoint, Strike, Hoyts and a selection of Highpoint Level One restaurants. The event will boast an all-star lineup of entertainment, with activities including:

- Public lip sync battles (12pm to 3pm Friday 11 to Sunday 13 September)
- Giant inflatable bowling (4pm – 8pm Friday 11 September to Sunday 13 September)
- Manga artists drawing custom Japanese-style comic book portraits (4pm – 8pm Friday 11, 12pm – 4pm Saturday and Sunday 13 September)
- DJs spinning fun and energetic tunes (4pm – 8pm Friday 11 September to Sunday 13 September)
