Olivia Chindamo
Australian vocalist, Olivia Chindamo is a Melbourne based musician who is best known for her natural and effortless ability to improvise or “scat”. Her win of the Generations In Jazz Vocal Scholarship at James Morrison’s GIJ Festival ‘14 brought her voice into the spotlight, making her one of Melbourne’s most sought after jazz vocalists. She has since released her debut album “Keep an Eye on Spring” (2015) and has performed numerous sold out shows around Australia, including her Sydney, Darwin, Perth and Brisbane debuts with none other than James Morrison himself.

Often compared to a horn player, at 23 she has already earned the respect of many of her peers and has performed on stages of all sizes, including Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, The Basement (Sydney), Melbourne’s iconic Hamer Hall and several large scale festivals and concerts, including Sydney’s Twilight at Taronga Zoo Summer Series ‘15 and Darwin’s Jazz On The Green festival ‘14. Olivia has studied locally and overseas in both Italy and New York where she met and received high commendations from jazz greats such as John Taylor (UK) and Sheila Jordan (USA).

Jake Barden
At 22 years of age, Jake Barden has been hailed as one of Australia’s best young musicians. After listening to the classic sounds of Coleman Hawkins and Oscar Peterson since the age of 6, Jake was entrenched in the jazz tradition from an early age.

After being taken under the wings of Don Burrows and John Morison, he has been performing and recording throughout Australia and overseas, with his debut international performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival at the tender age of 15. Shortly after, Jake began working with a variety of Australia’s top musicians. Tours and Performances with mentor, John Morrison’s groups, as well as with George Golla, James Morrison, Judy Bailey, Darren Percival, Liam Burrows and his own groups, Jake was soon in high demand. This also saw the opportunity to perform with international artists including Jeff Clayton, Wycliffe Gordon, Marian Petrescu, Gordon Goodwin, Aaron Goldberg, Gregory Hutchinson, Bob Mintzer and Mike Stern.

Jake continues to perform regularly throughout Australia and has already recorded and released his debut album “Moving Up” featuring mentor, Don Burrows and pianist, Mike Nock.
