Jasvinder has vigorously advocated against forced marriage and honour based violence in the UK and on the international stage. She is the Founder and Chief Executive of Karma Nirvana, a UK-based charity assisting those impacted by forced marriage and honour based violence.

As a survivor of forced marriage and renowned activist and speaker, Jasvinder has documented her life experience through her bestselling books Shame, Daughters of Shame and Shame Travels. She is an expert witness and qualified chairperson for homicide reviews and has agitated for legislative change in the UK which led to the Forced Marriage (Civil Protection) Act of 2007. Jasvinder is also an assistant creator of the Honor Diaries film and spearhead for the introduction of ‘The Day of Memory for Britain’s Lost Women’, which will take place annually on July 14.
