This is a very special celebration not to be missed. This wonderful festive day is enthusiastically celebrated throughout India and around the world by millions of people from all cultures and backgrounds.

Krishna is the revered speaker of the Bhagavad Gita, the universally renowned jewel of yoga wisdom. Krishna is described in the authoritative Vedic scriptures and by the self realised sages as being the Supreme Absolute Truth, the original cause of all causes, the Supreme Person. His activities and pastimes are full of meaning and purpose, all of which reveal the highest truth.

Krishna appeared in this world five thousand years ago, in His original transcendental form, making it possible for us to meditate upon Him and hear His transcendental instructions.

In homes and temples, villages and communities all around the world, people are preparing for the most auspicious and glorious event of Sri Krishna Janmastami - the appearance of Bhagavan Sri Krishna. Flower vendors are busy from dawn to dusk, artists paint decorative rangoli and construct incredible dioramas of scenes from the life of Krishna, temples are festively decorated, dramatic artists and dancers practice their craft celebrating Krishna's teachings and pastimes in music, song, theatre and dance. Cooks are preparing elaborate menus of incredible varieties of delicacies, families ready their homes in preparation... All culminating in an incredible celebration on Sunday.

Come celebrate with us this Sunday 6th September at Burleigh Heads 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. There will be kirtan, dancing, feasting, songs, storytelling and a beautiful bathing ceremony. Don't miss this most amazing event of the year!
