Kingfisha announce new single “Water Running”, national tour, sign with 123 Agency and join the line up at AWME.

Bin shaking roots specialists Kingfisha are turning an already huge 2015 into a massive 2015 with the announcement of their new single “Water Running” and national tour. Further more, Kingfisha are thrilled to announce a newly inked deal with The 123 Agency and joining the already incredible line up of the Australasian World Music Expo (AWME).

Water Running is already a live favourite, highlighting the deep all-encompassing rhythms of the band with the signature feather-light vocals of Anthony Forrest, a combination that has built them an impeccable reputation as bass-heavy roof-raisers with the hooks to match. Water Running was mixed by Melbourne’s legendary reggae producer King Charlie and recorded at 301 Studios in Byron bay by Jake Savona creating a heady mix of big bass lines, floating effects and killer melodies.

Kingfisha’s 2015 has already packed a punch with a collaboration with Canadian EDM label Westwood Recordings, where the band flipped their dedicated roots vibe on its head by releasing the surprise Kingfisha Remixed EP. Featuring a varied roster of producers from the UK, Holland, Canada and Australia, the project has amassed in excess of 200,000 plays on Soundcloud. The Funk Hunters standout remix of "Digging for Fire" reached #11 on the Beatport Glitch Hop chart while the E.P also held the #1 spot on the Dub/Reggae charts for several weeks.

Water Running is the first new track from Kingfisha since the release of their ground breaking self titled release of 2012. Kingfisha’s debut Lp, made noise nationally across community radio, with a swag of ‘Feature Albums’, triple j rotation for track Piece of the Puzzle, an Unearthed Roots win, a Queensland Music Award and three stellar tours, it’s safe to say the self-titled album – gorgeous vocals, exceptional musicianship and even better songs - had hit the mark.

The release of Water Running coupled with an already exceptional run of success, impeccable live shows honed in front of tens of thousands of people over 6-odd years, announced on the 2 biggest music conferences in the country (BIGSOUND & AWME) and a booking agency deal with 123 Agency freshly inked, Kingfisha are facing forward. Ready to unleash their first new single in two years, ahead of a sophomore album that will cement their position as the county’s premier roots-reggae outfit, Kingfisha are poised to make some major in-roads in an already stellar career.
