You aspire to be a career camera person and want the skills and experience needed to walk onto any set and shoot for the best story possible. You also want to know enough about lighting to work well with any cinematographer or gaffer.

Be a great camera operator, improve your cinematography skills and knowledge of the role of Director of Photography in this highly practical short course. In just four sessions you will learn to create mood and style using camera and focus techniques, as well as getting an introduction to lighting. You can’t take these practical exercises online. In a small class with plenty of professional camera and lighting gear, you will learn how to light and shoot a scene for a studio or on location and how to further enhance the storytelling through framing techniques and camera movement.

- Short composition
- Scene coverage
- Framing
- Camera movement
- Introduction to lighting techniques for studio and location

Tutor:
Steve Arnold is an internationally award-winning cinematographer with over 40 narrative film credits. Most recently Steve was the cinematographer for the 2014 Australian Academy Award-winning documentary ‘Red Obsession’, which sold out at the 2013 Sydney Film Festival. He has been the Director of Photography and Camera Operator of Feature Films, TVCs, Documentaries and Television Drama in Australia and all over the world.
