Have you ever wondered what happens after you finish writing a book? How does that book find its way into the hands of a publisher, and then into the hands of readers? In this workshop, award winning author Natasha Lester will walk you through the typical journey to publication that a book might take. She’ll talk about what literary agents are, why you might want one, and how to pitch to them. She’ll also talk about pitching directly to publishers. Most importantly, she’ll explain why the covering letter, synopsis and first three chapters that you send to an agent or publisher are actually selling documents, representing your book, and why it’s so important to get these three things just right and how to do it. You will leave the workshop with an understanding of how to take the next steps to publication with your book, and how to put together a professional, compelling pitch package that will make agents and publishers want to read more.
