NF (or New Farm Squared) is a new show by two local New Farm residents and artists, of evocative limited edition glicée prints.

The Breeze Block Series by Andrea Higgns is a paean to the rapidly reducing walls of patterned concrete around the artist’s local neighbourhood in New Farm, Brisbane. “Breeze blocks are so much a part of New Farm’s texture,” says Andrea. “But sadly these walls are being demolished at a great rate right in front of our eyes.” Several years ago, Andrea decided to document these patterns and architectural elements in an effort to salvage a memory of place.

An established architectural illustrator, Grealy has recently changed focus to rendering beautiful paintings of the houses, and remnant spaces between, that she sees on her daily walks around New Farm. Her work celebrates the unassuming, and revels in the textures of the less examined architectural detail and makeshift knowhow of everyday construction.

Dane Walsh, who is a collector of architectural photography as well as owner of Innovation Living, a sofa bed store that works with Danish designer Per Weiss plays host to this beautiful exhibition.
