A puppet adventure under the sea ...

Peta and the Whale is an enchanting story told with puppets and songs, through images and music. Beautiful shadows, projections and puppets fill the stage, from miniature krill to massive whales. Featuring the storytelling power and wonderful voice of much loved entertainer Franciscus Henri, the show tells the story of a little girl, Peta, coming to grips with the tall stories of her sailor Grandpa. The old whaler is trapped, helpless in bed, reliant on his family and pining for the independence he enjoyed at sea.

Eventually, Peta comes to see the beauty in his escape into memories, stories and shanties and finds her own way to understand the rhythms of the ocean. She sees beauty, excitement and wonder in the mysteries of the deep. Through her eyes, we are able to transform legends of sea monsters into stories of real animals, majestic and awe-inspiring. Peta and the Whale is an uplifting adventure to thrill and inspire.
