Award-winning mixed media / fibre artist Sarah Louise Ricketts will be presenting Play –Pose –Post; an interactive 3D sensory installation at an exclusive exhibition at Melbourne’s Rubicon Artist Run Initiative (ARI). Featuring Ms. Ricketts’ work, Tetrapods: The Giant’s Jacks, visitors will be enticed into an interactive game with art. The artist encourages guests to touch and play, stack and throw, shift and flip – eschewing the typical “hands off approach” to experiencing art in a gallery.

Each Tetrapod is form covered with colored felt hand-made from Australian Merino and Corriedale fleeces. The legs are each covered with a small pre-felted hood, which has been wet-felted down to a very tight fit on the form, rendering it as one piece. Each “jack” weighs in at around 200 grams and measures 30cm x 30cm x 30cm.

To further interactive sensory play and engage social media, visitors will be welcomed to pose with their own unique Tetrapods arrangements, and post their images on their smartphones, essentially telling their own experiential stories.

A computerized image gallery will be displayed as part of the installation to show the stacks of images as they are uploaded throughout the course of the show. Post images and follow @ #giantsjacks and watch the stack remotely at

Meet the Artist – Sarah Louise Ricketts will be available in person during the course of the exhibit showing hours for questions and artist talks.

Open Wed-Sat 12pm-5pm. Free Admission.
