The Symphony of Australia comes to the Cassegrain Winery in Port Macquarie on Sunday 7 June, with the gates opening from 2.00pm and the main event starting at 5.00pm.
The ‘Symphony of Australia’ is a remarkable, Australiana-themed musical production featuring a chamber orchestra, operatic and choral vocalists, and iconic Australian bush poetry.
Renowned composer and producer Gavin Lockley has brought together a select orchestra and some incredible vocalists to perform a completely unique and fascinating show that can only be described as Classical Australiana, with the best-loved Australian bush ballads brought to life in song.
Featuring iconic Australian poetry from the likes of Banjo Paterson, Dorothea Mackellar, CJ Dennis and Henry Lawson, and combined with a cascade of stirring, emotive and magical musical accompaniment, this production celebrates the nostalgia and romanticism we all have with the great Australian bush, and our country's vibrant history.
The show will also include some powerful and inspirational renditions of the best known and much loved, opera favourites, that are sure to make the hair on the back of your neck stand straight up.
The Symphony of Australia will feature international opera stars Renae Martin and Jose Carbo, along with the Australian Institute of Music Orchestra, conducted by Maestro Gavin Lockley.
