'Retrograde' by Peter-William Jamieson

Retrograde. (Adj.) Reverting to an earlier and inferior condition.
“In a world where death is the hunter, my friend, there is no time for regret or doubt, there is only time for decisions” - William Carlos Williams

Redfern, 2005.
A therapists’ meeting room, Elizabeth Street.
Violence; injustice; social inequality.
A proverbial melting pot.
Earl, a terminally-ill therapist (played by Mark Lee) meets his new patient Sonny, a young offender on Parole (played by Peter-William Jamieson).
Testosterone, vulnerability, and hardship fuse an unlikely bond between two men from different sides of the tracks trying to atone for their wrongs as they confront their own mortality. Old habits die hard.

Retrograde is a heart-felt tale of masculine power, adversity and longing; a brave new Australian work by Peter-William Jamieson, directed by Michael Yore and produced by Sandking.

Directed by Michael Yore (A Wonderful War) for Sandking. Written by Peter-William Jamieson. Performed by Mark Lee (Gallipoli, Vietnam, Packed To The Rafters) and Peter-William Jamieson (Importance of Being Earnest, La Ronde). Sound designed by Hal Rees. Stage Manager Nina Juhl. Set and costume designed by Lucy Scott. Produced by Sinead Curry.
