Every journey has a first step…
Every obsession has a beginning…
Everybody has a first love...
For Rob Lloyd (BBC America’s Doctor Who: Earth Conquest, Live On Bowen and Who, Me) it was the original Star Wars Trilogy. Star Wars dominated Rob’s childhood - it excited and inspired him; sparked his imagination. The two were inseparable. He collected all the figures, dressed up as often as he was allowed, knew all the films word-perfect and acted them out with his brother and friends. But was this love forever?
Join Rob for Episode III of the Original Obsession Trilogy. In 2010, it started with Sherlock Holmes in the Melbourne Fringe Sell-out season A Study in Scarlet (A Study of...) and continued in 2011 with Who, Me., his international hit Sell-out show about Doctor Who. Here at the end, he goes back to the beginning to where he discovered what it was to be obsessed for the very first time.
With direction from Lliam Amor (Impro Melbourne, The Ronin) and featuring Jennifer Speirs (it’s happening in the space between my face and yours, King Lear), this is a show is for anyone who’s ever loved and lost, not just Star Wars fans. Playing for the entirety of the Melbourne Fringe Festival in The Loft at the Lithuanian Club, follow this love story from the very first meeting, through a tumultuous relationship, all the way to the end.
“Lloyd is a great actor, with good physical skills and clear character definition.” - Melbourne. Arts. Fashion., 2015
“Rob Lloyd is also a fanboy, but one with the vital added ingredient. He is genuinely funny...rubber-faced Lloyd milks the material and the audience for laughs every minute…His improv skills are constantly on show and he never seems to be grasping for material. Four Stars.” -
The Herald Sun, 2014
“...(Lloyd’s) a solid yarn-spinner and an assured performer, holding the lunchtime audience rapt...”
- Chortle (UK) 2013
