If you are looking for an evening of great cinema with a twist that's cheaper than Tuesdays then this is the event for you!

The Australian Society for Medical Research (ASMR) is the peak professional society representing Australian health and medical research. For more information about the ASMR, please go to: ''.

The ASMR invites you all to its “Science in the Cinema” evening. This year, we have decided to screen “Dallas Buyer’s Club”, the Academy Award winning true story about Ron Woodroof, a man who was given only 30 days to live after being diagnosed as HIV positive during the 1980's AIDS epidemic. Refusing to accept this life sentence, he challenges the medical and scientific community by smuggling alternative, unapproved treatments into the U.S.

Prior to the film screening, world-leading HIV/AIDS researcher Professor Anthony Kelleher will speak to the audience about the AIDS epidemic from a clinical and personal/patient perspective.

The cinema comes fully equipped with an espresso and wine bar as well as all the usual cinema candy bar favourites (and healthier alternatives) so we've got you covered!

Tickets will be sold at the door and can also be pre-booked online via (3% booking fee applies).

On behalf of the ASMR NSW Committee, we look forward to seeing you at Science in the Cinema 2015!
