This year, seniors can strike it rich at Sovereign Hill with a range of activities for Seniors’ Festival Celebrations. Pioneer Pass Holders can participate in a range of activities including:

Mr & Mrs Crosby’s School of Etiquette & Politeness
Enjoy an amusing play which gives a “guide” to etiquette for the newly rich miner of the 1850s! Much laughter is sure to follow! (Duration approximately 30 minutes)
Victoria Theatre, Main Street, 11am

Golden Treasures Tour
Let our guides take you on a tour of the Gold Museum and hear the fascinating stories behind the objects on display. (Duration approximately 30-45 minutes), at the Gold Museum daily at 10.30am, 2.30pm and 4.30pm.

Garden Tour
Join Sovereign Hill’s gardener extraordinaire, Cherrie, for a guided tour through some of our wonderful gardens which will be in their full spring glory! (Duration approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour)
Bright View Gardens, Golden Point Road at 2pm

Hear from our Historian
Our Historian, Jan, will be giving an insightful talk on
S. T. Gill, an artist of the gold fields, and how his work has been used as primary source and inspiration for Sovereign Hill’s representation of the Ballarat goldfields.

Baby Animals
Take the opportunity to meet some of the newest members of Sovereign Hill, lots of opportunities to pat, hold and photograph! Located at the Horse Bazaar and animal paddocks in Main Street.

Friends of Sovereign Hill Demonstrations
Meet our amazing volunteers as they share their special skills and knowledge, including a Victorian Bonnet Making Display and butter churning demonstrations. These activities will take place throughout Sovereign Hill, enquire at the Post Office for details.

In addition to this extra entertainment, each day Sovereign Hill will also be hosting all our regular demonstrations and activities including our popular twice-daily Wheelwrighting demonstration at 1pm and 3.30pm, please see our Visitor’s Map for full information.
