Learn about food politics & the role of the consumer in shaping the modern food economy, with world-renowned, regenerative farmer, Joel Salatin.

Credited by Time Magazine as the ‘World’s Best Farmer’, join Joel for a high energy, entertaining and inspirational evening where he reveals with characteristic wit and practical experience how communities can grow a resilient, solar-driven, participatory, localised and integrated food-scape, that supports local farmers and cultivates a sustainable food economy. In every bite we hold the power to change our food future – join the conversation.

Joel is arguably one of the world’s most famous family farmers, in fact, Time Magazine credited him as the ‘World’s Best Farmer’. He’s a third generation man from the land whose multi-generational family enterprise owns and operates Polyface Farm in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley in the United States.

Their organic grass fed farm – once eroded and worn out – is now one of the country’s premier non-industrial food production companies. His farm direct sale markets and sells pastured beef, pork, poultry and rabbits to more than 4000 families, 50 restaurants and 10 retail outlets and generates from $10,000 per acre in income per year.

Joel also writes extensively in magazines such as Stockman Grass Farmer, Acres USA and Amercian Agriculture. Polyface farm features prominently in Michael Pollan’s New York Times bestseller Omnivore’s Dilemma and the award-winning documentary, Food Inc.

Talking food politics and food ethics, don't miss this timely opportunity to catapult the regional conversation forward on how we support and grow our local family farming economy, how we link our farmers with consumers and how young entrepreneurs can get started in farming!
