Spartan Race is the world’s leading obstacle race series. Originating in the USA, it was founded by eight extreme manias including a marathon runner, a mountaineer and a marine. With various ideas for extreme sports, they established the event for the first time at Vermont in north-east America in 2010.

Spartan Race now hosts races in 14 countries all around the world, and in Australia, there are races around the country throughout the year. It’s a fun day out for all, from individuals, teams and children. The aim is for everyone to test their endurance levels and stamina to reach the finish line via a series of different obstacles.

For beginners, Spartan Sprints are a great starting point to becoming a Spartan. For those looking for more of a challenge, there are four race formats to choose from catering to all levels of fitness. You can choose your distance and race against the clock as you scale walls, run through mud, swim dams, jump fires and climb ropes individually or as part of a team.

- Spartan Sprint – 7 km / 20 obstacles
- Spartan Super – 14 km / 25 obstacles

Spartan Race also offers kids races that run in conjunction with the main race formats.

What makes Spartan Race different from other obstacle courses is that they are not just a series in Australia, but worldwide. Compare your time to other Race competitors around the world. Spartan race offers 4 different race types with unique obstacles. Spartan race does not offer course information so you will never know what to expect.
